Android 2.1 is coming to the X10 Family Sony Ericsson in October or November say Hello little robot
. The X10 Mini, which comes with the Android 1.6 will be updated for Android 2.1 in November. The information we have been passed by a source inside Sony Ericsson Accessory but the note released will not be in any of the SE blog yet, well we think that. The Android 2.1 update will be available before in SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service).
Here’s what a source inside the Sony Ericsson Accessory wrote us:
“From November 2010 the software will be X10 Mini updated and now supports the Android 2.1. This update can also be done on all X10 mini bought before that date. ”
The update on Android as well as leaving the unit more fast will still cause images to become VERY best. Currently, the X10 can only display 256 000 colors. With the upgrade they can display up to 16 million colors.
We talked with the Communications Department Sony Ericsson and confirmed that:
“The X10, X10 and X10 Mini Mini Pro will be updated in October. ”
“After the update they can record HD video.”
Well, the best of hypotheses is that the Sony Ericsson will upgrade the entire family with X10 Android 2.1 between October and November. So we expect more news and stay tuned guys!
As we know Sony Ericsson has promised an update of the platform Android for your model Xperia X10 late in the third quarter of this year. However, the evidence of this update has already begun and it is shown that leaked the first details of this upgrade as expected by consumers of this terminal announced in November 2009 and has a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor at 1 GHz QSD8250 .
The first detail is the version of Android. Everything indicates that it Éclair version v2.1, and not the most recinte, Froy v2.2 . No can we expect multi-touch technology, as it had confirmed Sony Ericsson. Improvements have been made in the integration of native applications, and Mediascape Timescape. In the same way it has perfected the mobile browser and messaging functions.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is not expected to see the Android 2.1 (Éclair) update until late Q3. However, Sony Ericsson is no doubt testing the ROM extensively before release. The guys or the guys gbil member from xda-developers has managed to get hold of the test version and is revealing some information of what he’s found so far.
Another important point is the possibility of recording videos in high definition (HD) at 720p which is a great improvement on the X10.
Watch the video:
Xperia X10 720p HD video sample
It has filmed a short video where it should be noted that we expect with this update, you can see on YouTube or download here.
Finally it is worth remembering that these tests are not done with the final version of software that is integrated in the X10. For now we can expect tunings and official information from Sony Ericsson. We would like to share this news with you guys. A person who is a developer of software for Orange so would have the inside news and theoretically a hot news. The source told us that basically the Orange will have the 2.1 update and will be launched in about a month, this is mid-September. The update will be the same for all X10 but customizing each carrier could have its like the Orange.
Note: Guys we don´t know when Sony Ericsson will pronounce about upgrade Android by as much as the title of the matter said, everything is just rumors. Then let’s wait some days and stay tuned.
